Higher and Lower

Beneath a tall pine tree
Little green grass.

The pine tree with
Head high
Looking at the grass
With disdain.

Came autumn
Leaves dropped
Leaving the pine tree
Spread on the grass.

Sleep of grass got disturbed
She complained,
'U ff ! You are making big noise !"
The leaves replied with 
Inflated ego,
"You the lower caste brat !
How can you know the melody of the
Music of the sky and the wind."

Showered the rains
By and by the leaves
Vanished in the soil
And became grass 
On the same soil.

(Pine-tree= Devdaar, Disdain=Tiraskaar/Ghrina, Autumn=Patjhar, Inflated=Phooli hui, Melody=Raag ki mithaas, Vanish=kafoor ho jani, mil jaani. Soil=matti.)( I know these are simplest words yet base on my past experience I gave the meanings, those who don't need these may please ignor)

ऊँच और नीच ( हिंदी रूपांतर अर्पिता गोडबोले द्वारा)

ऊँचे लम्बे 
देवदार तले
उगी हुई थी 
नन्ही कोमल 
हरित घास.

देवदार 
ऊँचा किये मस्तक 
देख रहा था
उपेक्षा भरी नज़रों से 
पांवों पर बिछी 
नन्ही घास को....

आई थी पतझड़ 
छोड़ कर देवदार को
गिरे थे सूखे पते 
और 
फ़ैल गए थे घास पर. 

घास की नींद में 
पड़ा था खलल,
कहा था उसने, 
"उफ्फ ! 
कित्ता शोर करते हो तुम. "
बेहद गुरूर से,
कहा था पत्तों ने,
" नीच जात !
क्या जानो तुम 
नभ और पवन के 
संगीत माधुर्य को."

पड़ी थी फुहारें 
बारिश की,
हो गए थे पते विलुप्त 
शनै शनै 
उसी मिटटी में,
और 
बन के उगे थे 
घास वैसी ही
उसी मिटटी पर...
