In the quagmire of life,
With a common streak
Of caste,religion and status,
That ends with
Concluding the rituals,
One is chalk and
Other is cheese, 
No romance
No courtship
No understanding of 
Basics of each other,
Probably 
Invented the society
Instrument of Marriage
With a notion,
People of different
Opinions and attitudes
Beliefs and judgments
Would stick together
To make a life
Out of nothing,
And see the fall-outs
See the breathing corpses
See the humans becoming
Sub-human,
Irony...Irony...Irony,  
Still you sing in the
Glory of this obsolete
Man made institution...

धकेल दिया है उनको
जीवन के गाढे दलदल में
रंगारंग उस्तव के 
गाजे-बाजों के संग 
ओढाकर आवरण 
समरूप सी दिखती 
जाति धर्म और प्रतिष्ठा की
परत का 
जो दरक जाती है 
कर्मकांडों के उपसंहार के संग.
एक है चूना 
दूजा माखन,
ना कोई रोमांस 
ना ही प्रणय निवेदन,
ना ही कोई बोध 
इक-दूजे के सत्व का, 
शायद 
समाज ने किया था 
अविष्कार इस 
विवाहरूपी यंत्र का,
पाले यह धारणा कि 
जुड़े रहेंगे 
चिपके रहेंगे पात्र 
बनाने जीवन को 
कतिपय खोखले सामानों से
ऐसे पात्र 
भिन्न है जिनके
चिंतन और मनोवृति 
विश्वास एवम मूल्यांकन,
देखो ना 
परिणाम इसके 
देखा ना 
सांस लेते जीवित शवों को,
देखो ना 
मानवों को अमानवीय बनते हुए,
विडम्बना है 
यह कैसी ?
देखते जानते समझते 
गाये जा रहे हो 
असंख्य कीर्ति गीत 
तुम
इस मानव निर्मित 
जर्जर हुए 
संस्थापन के 
महिमा मंडन में...
